he Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 concluded at Galgotias University on 12 December with remarkable enthusiasm and outstanding displays of innovation. Participants from across the country presented technological solutions that reflected the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the Prime Minister’s vision of a “Shreshtha Bharat.” For five consecutive days, the campus remained a vibrant centre of creativity, determination and youth-driven technological excellence.

Chief Guest Prof. Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, motivated the students by stating that the future of India lies in the hands of young minds who dare to work on real-world challenges. He said that platforms like the Smart India Hackathon not only accelerate innovation but also help the nation move firmly towards technological self-reliance. He encouraged the participants to continue advancing their creativity in ways that benefit society.

The project evaluations were conducted by Mr. Mohit Gupta from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) and Dr. Shalini Rai from the Ministry of AYUSH, along with their respective teams. The assessment focused on originality, technological feasibility and social impact. Speaking at the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, said that SIH 2025 has once again proved that India’s youth are not only technologically capable but are also actively shaping the foundation of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. He added that being selected as a nodal centre is a matter of pride for Galgotias University, and the institution remains committed to strengthening the national innovation ecosystem in the coming years.

In the Swadeshi for Atmanirbhar Bharat category for Robotics and Drones under AICTE, the teams from Galgotias University, Greater Noida, and Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, were declared joint winners. In the Soft Insert Contouring Device category under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, and PES College of Engineering, Mandya, Karnataka, were announced joint winners. In the Ministry of AYUSH category, Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology, Janakpuri, New Delhi, and Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, were declared winners. In the Switch-Controlled Wrist–Hand Orthosis category under MoSJE, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysuru, Karnataka, and Chennai Institute of Technology, Malayambakkam, Tamil Nadu, were declared joint winners.

During the concluding session, the university announced that the top projects would be showcased at an upcoming state-level exhibition. The impressive presence of students, mentors, faculty members, industry representatives and parents made the final day even more inspiring. The five-day journey clearly demonstrated that India’s youth are not merely participating in a competition—they are leading the creation of a technology-driven, progressive and truly Shreshtha Bharat.
