To address this problem, the Indian government has enacted laws to protect children from sexual abuse. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was introduced in 2012 to provide a legal framework for the prevention, investigation, and punishment of child sexual abuse offenses. The law defines various offenses and outlines procedures for reporting, recording statements, and conducting trials to ensure the protection and well-being of child victims.

Numerous organizations and helplines in India are dedicated to supporting child sexual abuse survivors. One such organization is Childline India Foundation, which operates a 24-hour toll-free helpline (1098) to provide immediate assistance and connect children in need to appropriate support services.
