Violence was witnessed in many states during the Ram Navami procession. Although, after the incident, the administration had claimed that the situation was normal, but the next day again there was ruckus in many places.

The festival of Ram Navami was celebrated with enthusiasm across the country on 30 March. However, during this period, incidents of stone pelting on processions led to riots in different states of the country. The rioters created such uproar that even the souls of the people were shaken. From West Bengal to Gujarat and Maharashtra words like peace and harmony were consigned to the fire.
Bombs and stones rained from rooftops amid provocative slogans in Howrah:
A procession with saffron flags was being taken out on Ram Navami in Howrah, West Bengal. In Shibpur of Howrah, suddenly the crowd involved in the procession was seen running in the opposite direction. In the video going viral, a woman’s voice is heard that look, they are throwing glass. After this, there is shouting in the procession amidst the stampede. With this, suddenly stone pelting starts and after some time riots start on the way of the procession. The crowd gathered on the roofs of the buildings pelted stones and the miscreants set the shops on fire. In the presence of the police, arson and vandalism were being done all around in Shree AC market of Shibpur. Blood was flowing from someone’s head and someone’s body.On Friday (March 31), the police reached the area and claimed that the situation was under control. Suddenly stone pelting started at 1.20 pm after Namaz. The police were present, but the anarchy was at its peak. Even after almost 18 hours of the incident, the administration failed to restore peace in Shibpur of Howrah.

The West Bengal government has handed over the order to CID to investigate the violence on the day of Ram Navami in Howrah. Meanwhile, internet services have been suspended in the violence-hit area and police patrolling has been increased. CID will investigate the violence on the day of Ram Navami in Howrah, West Bengal. The state government has ordered a CID inquiry. Meanwhile, internet services have been suspended in some areas adjoining Howrah till 2 pm. Police patrolling has also been increased in the area. Let us tell you that tension prevailed in many areas adjacent to Shivpur in Howrah since Thursday night. A large number of police forces have been deployed to deal with the ruckus. Tension had arisen in the area since Friday morning. Meanwhile, ever since the investigation of this incident has been handed over to CID. So far 48 people have been arrested.
