Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is on an official trip to Singapore from October 19-20 as part of his two nation’s visit to South Asian countries. During his visit, he met his Singaporean counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan and held important discussions on the strategic partnership and global development between the two countries on the first day. He also met the Singapore and Trade Minister Gan Kim Yong during his visit and discussed the countries’ cooperation in the long run.


S  Jaishankar is set to meet the President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam and other senior leaders in search of further collaboration. He will also lead the regional conference of Indian heads of missions and East India ambassadors. “Our deliberations took stock of regional developments and assessed their implications for India. Insights offered by our Ambassadors are valuable inputs into policy-making” stated S. Jaishankar at his conference.

India and Singapore share a bond based on shared values, and economic opportunities and shared value, which elevated into a Strategic partnership in 2015. Both countries have held several ministerial interactions in 2023. India also invited Singapore for the G20 summit held in India as a guest country.
