On 3rd of April, 2021, Dr. Tasha Singh Parihar, Associate Professor from School of Media and Communication Studies was awarded ‘Best Media Research Educator of the Year’ at the 15th Edition of Media Excellence Award 2021 from Media Federation of India.
The award function was held in the Dr. Sinha auditorium of Indian Medical Association, New Delhi from 6pm onwards where eminent journalists and personalities were present namely Mr. Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Indian film producer, director, educator, journalist and the founder president & chancellor of Asian Academy of Film & Television Mr. Arun Sharma, President Media Federation of India.
Media Excellence Awards is one of the endeavors of Media Federation of India to promote the core journalistic values in National & Regional Media workers and educators as well as to bring the work of journalists working in the interiors into the main focus. The same is often ignored by the mainstream media. These awards started in 2007 and since then, have been being organized every year in New Delhi. The work of Print as well as Television journalists and educators of Media are taken into consideration. Federation also appreciates the importance of news portals, Community Radio and Infotainment aspects of the fast-growing FM Radio industry and felicitates exceptional efforts & performers in the new media as well. There are around 30 award categories and every year the award ceremony is attended by senior politicians and a large number of journalists and media faculty members. At this occasion a cultural function is also organized, wherein known performers or faces of the entertainment industry also do perform. In this function, the local culture of one theme state is also highlighted every year.
