A 16-year-old Sherpa climber successfully set the record for climbing Mt. Manaslu.

The Department of Tourism employees stationed at the base camp certified that “Nima Rinji Sherpa from Sangkhuwasabha climbed the true peak of Mt. Manaslu becoming the youngest individual in the world to have done such achievement.”

The eldest son of record-holding mountaineer Tashi Lakpa Sherpa is Nima Rinji.

It was also confirmed by Tashi Lakpa, who has been managing Seven Top Adventure and 14 Peaks Expeditions out of the base camp, that his son reached the summit at roughly 9:20 am.

The 8163-meter peak was scaled by Nima Rinji, Manish Maharjan, Pemba Thinduk Sherpa, and Nurbu Sherpa, according to Sherpa. “He made it at age of 16,” Sherpa said.

According to Tashi Lakpa, Nima Rinji, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Kathmandu, has trained in mountain climbing as well as other adventure sports.
