Galgotias NCC: A stepping stone for nation-building and personal growth The National Cadet Corps (NCC), the outreach program at Galgotias University, one of India’s premier private Universities, significantly contributes to the holistic development of students. The National Cadets Corps, which is a nationwide program aimed toward fostering discipline, leadership, and social responsibility in young men and women, is aimed at developing cadets academically and socially while nurturing their contribution in the long run positively to the nation.
The University NCC program offers both classroom instruction and real-world experience. The training involves different kinds of exercises to help with social awareness, team play, leadership, and physical fitness. Here are some important things about the NCC program of the university: The fundamental building blocks of NCC training, and drill had cadets understand the importance of self-discipline, team spirit, and leadership ability.
Drill and Discipline: The foundation of NCC training, drill made cadets know the value of self-control, teamwork, and leadership quality. Students who regularly practice drills see improvements in their posture, concentration, teamwork skills and so on
Leadership Development: Cadets are prepared to acknowledge leadership quality in society through a variety of leadership camps and exercises. They learn how to lead a group of people, make rational choices, and effectively manage critical and challenging circumstances. Community Service: These drills awaken a sense of feeling of social and cultural responsibility, NCC encourages them to participate in social service programmes. This includes blood drives, sanitation campaigns, disaster relief efforts and many more such situations
Outdoor and Adventure Activities: Trekking, mountaineering, rifle shooting etc, are among the adventure sports that Galgotias University’s NCC unit hosts. Cadets learn the value and morals of elements like bravery, resiliency, and teamwork via these exercises.
Galgotias University, one of the most acclaimed universities known for its modern academic structures and most modern facilities has always believed in the overall development of its students. To accomplish this, the National Service Scheme (NSS) plays an important role in the social and academic development of students. NSS units at Galgotias University strive to instil the values of empathy, responsibility and service towards society amongst students. The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an initiative sponsored by the government wherein students are required to get involved in community service projects as part of developing social responsibility. Launched in 1969 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the program aims to promote social responsibility, national integration and voluntarism.At Galgotias University, the NSS is 2 years course which stands for National Service Scheme. It has 2 Camps one is a General Camp and the second is a Special Camp in which 50 volunteers go to a village and organise the camp. In 2 years, they have to spend at least 240 hours.

NSS at Galgotias University is actively present on campus and is working under the supervision of dedicated academic staff. The university is dedicated to instilling its students with virtues such as empathy, social responsibility and altruism. The NSS program provides students to deal with real-life issues and take part in solving them.Social consciousness and Responsibility: Through participation in a range of community development initiatives, the NSS program seeks to raise students’ social consciousness and ethical knowledge. Character Development: Students who engage in community service gain traits like empathy, ethical values, leadership, and teamwork.Skill Development: The curriculum assists students in gaining a wide variety of useful abilities that are
advantageous in both their personal and professional lives, including communication, problem-solving, and project management and more events like this Students in the NSS at Galgotias University are involved in a wide range of activities that have a positive impact on society. Some of the key initiatives include:Health Camps: recurring health examinations and education initiatives which emphasize disease prevention, diet, Blood Donation Camps and cleanliness. Tree Plantation Drives: Students learn about environmental protection and SDG goal -13(climate action)by participating in tree plantation drives that enhance the surrounding area.Educational Support: NSS volunteers also help to promote literary knowledge and help impoverished youngsters with their academics by offering them educational support.
