“Is AI going to take my job?” is the most commonly asked question as soon as the topic of artificial intelligence is brought up. To address many such questions regarding the role of AI in the upcoming world especially in the field of content creation; this seminar was organised on ‘Revolutionizing content creation in India: leveraging AI and Digital Platforms to reach the next Billion Users’. To get a wider perspective on the nature and endless possibilities of the AI revolution storming India, students from Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Galgotias University attended a Seminar organized by Brut at Surya hall in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The proceedings certainly invoked a sense of adventure, vitality, spiritedness and enthusiasm just like the rising sun. The esteemed panel of Speakers included many popular personalities from the gallows of tech and media industry which included
- Ms Sahiba Bali (Actress)
- Mr Rajiv Makhni (Tech Influencer)
Along with the Honorable Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia
The discussions went through a rollercoaster of topics and introspection which highlighted the importance, expected influence and limitations of AI. Some of the key aspects being:
- The utility of AI in expanding the reach of content beyond vernacular barriers to the linguistically diversified masses in India.
- Reduction of clerical work burden on people which in turn would enable them to utilize their time more efficiently and achieve a greater content quality as well as generate a wider reach.
- The benefit of AI in increasing the reach of content by suggesting suitable ideas and themes while targeting relevant audience by algorithm management and variety of visibility filters.
The speakers through their experience in the field elucidated on the fears regarding AI while cautioning about its natural cons.
“The emotions in a man are stirred more quickly than a man’s intelligence”, said Oscar Wilde while describing human society and if we think that AI would replace humans at their jobs might be the biggest myth there is for it doesn’t and will never have a ‘humane touch’ superior to humans themselves! On the other hand, Indian content creators must remain wary of deep fakes and online scams which seem to mutate at break-neck speed, they must also find unique ways to keep the citizens aware of these as well.
Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia also stated that the government is seeking to encourage creativity with AI amongst the youth but is also keen on keeping a strict restraint on frauds and scams. In addition, he would wish for it to formulate a strategy in order to forge a link of efficient communication between opportunities being provided by the ministry and it’s potential benefactors so that they can be benefitted from the endeavors of the government.
Concluding the seminar on this note he established an optimistic halo around the phenomenon of AI revolution, encouraging the innovative youth to engage in it whole heartedly.
