Galgotias University was selected by Ministry of Education to host IDE Bootcamp, held in New Auditorium in Galgotias University on 4th and 5th  April 2024, organised by School Innovation Council, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) and Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH).

Galgotias University is one among the four Institutes selected by Ministry of Education to Host this IDE Bootcamp, others are from Bhopal, Jaipur and Mumbai. Around one hundred-sixty five Principals and eighty-three Teachers of one hundred-sixty five Schools out of which eighty-two being Kendriya Vidyalaya and eighty-three being Government Inter College took part from forty-three districts of Uttar Pradesh and seven experts and trainers were also invited for their interactive sessions with the Teachers and Principals.

The Inaugural Ceremony Chief Guest was Shri. Amitabh Nag (CEO Digital India Bhashini Division (BHASHINI), Director-Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, GoI). The Chief Guest for Valedictory Ceremony was Dr. Anita Gupta (Adviser/Scientist DST, Govt. of India). Two Representatives of Ministry of Education were also present on both the days.

On the day of Inauguration the program commenced by Deep-Prajjwalan Ceremony in the presence of Chief Guest Shri. Amitabh Nag, Dr. Renu Luthra Former Vice-Chancellor and Advisor to Chancellor, Dr. Avdhesh Kumar Pro Vice Chancellor, and Dr. K. Mallikarjuna Babu, Vice Chancellor Galgotias University followed by Saraswati Vandana. Later, AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam also joined ‘Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamps’ via video conferencing. from AICTE HQ, New Delhi and addressed all Princials and Teachers. The inaugural program was live telecasted across India and various Schools and Universities took part into it.

This two-day IDE programme aims at enhancing the ability of youth to innovate by providing them necessary skills and mindset in order to thrive in today’s dynamic business environment. The programme focussed on experiential learning. It primarily focussed on developing business mindset in the youth by providing them grants and funding opportunities to make their business idea or start-ups stand out.

Addressing the members, Chief Guest Amitabh Nag said that communication is an integral part in our lives and as India is a multi-lingual society we need advancement in this field as well and for that computers and AI have been developed so that it can help people to understand and learn each other’s languages. India has always been innovative and so will be in future and this sense of innovation in the youth should always be welcomed and cherished in order to be innovative , He added.

Former Vice-Chancellor and Advisor to Chancellor, Dr. Renu Luthra said that to see a big change as a country people need to start taking small steps individually as every drop of water contributes in making up an ocean. She also addressed the role of teachers in child’s life, how they sow a seed of innovation in the mind of youth. She also appreciated the change that New Education Policy 2020 has brought in the education system and how the youth will be benefitted by it. It will help to achieve the PM’s goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, she added.

Pro Vice Chancellor, Galgotias University, Dr. Avdhesh Kumar discussed the importance of innovation and technology in every institutions and how to develop the environment and mindset for such development. He also addressed how one can develop leadership qualities in order to lead a progressive life.

Vice Chancellor, Galgotias University, Dr. Mallikarjun Babu addressed the importance of values and ethics in personal and professional lives in order to uphold the morality in every aspect of life, be it moral or legal. The students were advised to uphold their principles in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle and then they can excel in every field, he added.

Vote of thanks was given to Chief Guest Shri. Amitabh Nag by Vice Chancellor, Galgotias University, Dr. Mallikarjun Babu, in order to mark hi gracious presence and with that the bootcamp came to an end teaching about the new perspectives which need to be developed in the minds of youth as well as every individual in order to contribute in the development of our nation and enhancement of new technologies.
