As we all know, poverty is something that every country is trying to get rid of Poverty is that state where people suffer from necessary resources & opportunities. In underdeveloped countries, poverty covers the maximum rate of percentage. Due to this, the government is also taking many important steps because it can cause a major fall in GDP

According to the NITI Aayog report 2023 24.82 crore Indians escaped multidimensional poverty in the last 9 years. Poverty Headcount Ratio from 29.17% in 2013-14 to 11.28% in 2022-23. Uttar Pradesh’s number of people coming out of poverty is 5.94 crore, Bihar people coming out of 3.77 crore and Madhya Pradesh 23 crore people coming out from poverty had the largest decline in the number of MPI poor between 2013-14 and 2022-23 . Poverty Anywhere is a Threat to prosperity everywhere. In 2015 the United Nations created 17 sustainable development goals and aimed them by 2030. All the indicators of the Multidimensional poverty index (MPI) exhibit progress. Annual Rate of 27 million individuals escaping poverty.

In India poverty is divided into a type of line that is above the poverty line and below the poverty line . Factors such as lack of access to education in adequate social welfare programs and limited job opportunities and unequal distribution of resources contribute to the persistence of poverty in India. Poverty is such an important topic to discuss. It is a complex issue that affects so many people around the world. In our society it’s heartbreaking to see so many families struggling to for basic need they don’t Afforded BPL of India which has a basic criteria that if a person has food , shelter and home then they are above the BPL but if they are not able to fulfil their basic need then they are under BPL 21.92% are under the below poverty line in India.

The Indian government has provided many schemes for the development of poor people as follows. MGNREGA , Ration system, Mid Day meal, Pradhan Mantri Aawas yojana and ujjwala yojana. According to recent reports poverty affects approximately 9% of the global population with millions struggling to meet their basic needs. Children from impoverished backgrounds often face barriers to education, hindering their chances of a brighter future. Unemployment is a significant factor contributing to poverty. The lack of job opportunities, particularly in rural areas , leaves many struggling to make ends meet

Even those fortunate enough to secure employment often face low wages and exploitative working conditions further perpetuating the cycle of poverty. However, amidst the challenges , there are individuals and organizations working tirelessly to alleviate poverty and bring about positive change. Non government organization (NGO) community based initiative and strides in providing essential resources and support to those in need . Policies that priorities equitable economic growth, social safety nets and access to education and healthcare are crucial in creating a more inclusive society.

The burden of poverty falls disproportionately on women and children, who often lack access to essential healthcare services . To combat poverty effectively it’s essential for government, civil society and individuals to work together. Poor health is both a cause and consequence of poverty. Individual grappling with health challenges often find it difficult to escape the clutches of poverty. Limited access to quality healthcare services coupled with the Financial burden of medical expenses creates a cyclical relationship . The lack of preventative care and timely medical intervention exacerbates health challenges perpetuating the cycle of poverty. Only through collective effort and a commitment to justice and equity can we aspire to create a world where every individual has the opportunity to Break free from the shackles of poverty and realize their full potential.
