Greater Noida, The galgotias university has organised the event of Smart India Hackathon. The day 1 witnessed the four round sessions categorised into, the inauguration of the grand finale, the hackathon for hardware edition, the first round of mentoring session and lastly the first round of evaluation. The students of the mass communication department interacted with the participants working on their respective projects where they highlighted some of the key points and their motives behind their ideas and themes.


While interacting with the participants, the students came across various ideas and innovations out of which some of them are the sewage gas montage system and design of RF step up and step down signal using GNU and SDR. Referring to the sewage gas montage system, the main objective behind the project is to help the workers and save them from the harmful gases emitted from sewages. The project will help in getting emergency alerts in dangerous situations. The inspiration of the project, the team got was from the increasing death rate of the sewage workers and the spread of diseases like tuberculosis, respiratory tract infections and other fatal skin infections. Moving forward to the next project which is the design of RF step up and step down signal using GNU and SDR, is the combination of hardware and software using PCB design and other computer coding software such as Python, inspired by satellite communication, Electronics and mass communication.


Coming towards the round of evaluation, there is a team of internal and external evaluators. One of the external evaluator, Pradeep Kumar Khandelwal, a retired chief engineer of municipal Corporation of Delhi, shared his views on the overall experience and monitoring of the participants. He applauded the participants and their creativity of how they are understanding the problems of daily lives and are efficiently working on their respective projects to make a change.He even addressed us with the vision and mission about the whole program, which was to utilise the ideas of the students, to give them a chance of presenting their innovations and come up with solutions to the challenging atmosphere. Overall, for all the mentors and externals, it was a great experience to come up to new ideas of the participants and evaluating them upon their skills.
