At Kinshasa, each 25th of December the Congolese people celebrate Christmas in a very particular way by highlighting the Congolese culture because in Congo there is a very proper manner of celebrating every kind of event.
First of all, we start Christmas on the 24th of December by going to church for Christmas Eve from 11pm to 5am to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.
When we come in the morning, we take some time for rest and after resting all the women of the family start preparing the dinner; the food, the drinks, basically everything that will be consumed during the party because Christmas is one of the biggest events of the year for Congolese People.
After that, when everything is ready, there is a big family dinner because Christmas in Congo is celebrated with all the family members and we share love not only with our family members but even with others also even people that we don’t know, we share food, clothes and all the kind of presents with them.
After having dinner and giving presents, it depends on each family but most of them go out, to some highlighted place of the capital city which is decorated for families or friends to come and take pictures because in Christmas we create memories.
To conclude, we can say that Christmas is the holiday that brings together the most people in Congo, so it is celebrated with the people we love by showing them love and we don’t just say it, we also prove it by our actions.
