1.Where did you get your education from and how was that experience?

I got my education in Gaya, Bihar up to Master of Arts in Ancient History, and then PG Diploma In
PR and Journalism (Postal) from SCMS Kochi.

2.When did you think of doing journalism? And how did it start?

I started thinking about being a journalist when I was in college. Newspapers’ editorial pages
Attracted me from the beginning. I was very much impressed with Mr. MJ Akbar’s column in ‘Aaj’ – MJ
Akbar ki Kalam Se. I first started writing in local newspapers in Bihar, and then came to Delhi in 1994
to join Journalism.

3.You have worked in big organizations like Aaj Tak, India Today, India TV and Ani? What would you like
to say about this?

Working in Media brands like Aajtak, India TV and ANI is a dream every budding journalist lives
with so was me. It was a big break when I was called by Aajtak, and they offered me a senior position at
Aajtak Assignment, and thereafter I got the chance to serve the Channel for 9 years.

4.According to you, which journalism is better T.V or Newspaper?

Both TV and Newspapers are good Media streams if you work for betterment in the society and the
Country. But TV is a medium that amplifies your news and views dramatically fast, so it’s popular these
Days.

5. There is so much pressure in media, in this situation how do you keep yourself calm?

Handling work pressure round the clock is the biggest challenge every Journalist faces. One should
Take out personal moments for oneself from the busy schedule to keep mind and body at peace. Yog is
a good option.

6. Do you have any memorable moments in the media industry that you would like to share with us?

It was a thrilling moment, when I was standing in the Large Hadron Collider where God particle was
Found at CERN in Switzerland on a coverage trip with former President Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam in 2005 as
ANI Correspondent. Seeing the tunnel from inside was a different experience.

7. What challenges did you face in media industry?

The biggest challenge, I faced in the Media industry, was due to my education from a small town in
Bihar. Every editor wanted to employ budding journalists from institutions like IIMC, JNU, DU, etc. It
Took me seven years to get a job in a big media brand as I was employed by ANI after that, and there
Was no looking back since then.

8. What tips would you like to give to upcoming journalism student?

I suggest, young Journalists should read subjects in detail that is not happening now. ‘The more
You read, the better you be’, is the Mantra for them.

9. What is the milestone in your life?
A successful life.
