Akanksha Singh The authority responsible for the waste management system in Greater Noida for various policies implemented by them is the City Sanitation Policy. Talking to the residents of Greater Noida we came to know how the waste is not properly disposed of. Greater Noida comes under Gautam Buddha Nagar of Uttar Pradesh as we know the waste problem in seen everywhere but it has affected mostly the polluted area of Greater Noida for example, the Data Shown by Municipal solid waste management rule 2016 in place for which it will initiate a request for proposal to hire consultant, Greater Noida is an industrial town which was established in 1992 but here the solid waste is not disposed in scientific manner, currently it is dumped in vacant plots and there is no proper garbage truck which comes in the morning like in some places but people are helpless and even they throw the garbage in the nearby in some vacant plots. It generates nearly 200 metric tons of waste on a daily basis. But now the waste will be collected, segregated, transported and processed and composted before at the landfill site. The municipal corporation of greater Noida should inform the masses about proper management of waste and to keep two dustbins, one for wet & other for dry. The positive steps towards waste management by authorities with the inauguration of a plant is being planted with functions and components that have been installed with capacity together to treat 400 metric tons of waste per day. Trails for the plant have begun. The authority has hired a Brazilian company, Anothy Lara solutions pvt. ltd., in which has been awarded a contract of rupees 23 crore. The work is expected to begin in two months when the garbage can be processed to transport refuse derived fuel, manure and recycled products etc. The plastic and dust (dry) waste will be separated and recycled to be used for making multi -layers boards, including chairs, benches, tree guard etc. whereas construction & demolition waste will be used to build roads and fill potholes. |
