Pankaj Tripathi was born on 5 September 1976 in Gopalganj, Bihar. Pankaj Tripathi
loved acting since childhood. He used to play the role of girls in village plays. He
was born in a farmer’s family. Pankaj Tripathi’s journey in Bollywood was not that
easy. He has struggled a lot to work in films. He struggled for years to make a mark
in the Hindi film industry but he got recognition as an actor from ‘Gangs of
Wasseypur’. His character Kaleen Bhaiya in ‘Mirzapur’ made him a big actor. Pankaj
Tripathi is an Indian actor who has worked in both Bollywood and regional films.
He made his film debut in 2004 with the Bollywood film “Run”. He has done so
many successful films such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Nil Battey Sannata, and
Newton. He is known for his versatile acting skills and has received several awards
and nominations for his work. Some of his most recent appreciated films include
Stree, Luka Chuppi, and Mirzapur.
Before acting in films, Pankaj Tripathi has also worked at Maurya Hotel in
Patna. During those days once Manoj Bajpayee had come to stay in that hotel and
he left his sleepers in hotel. After pleading with the staff, “Pankaj Tipathi” kept
those slippers with him, because he considered Manoj as his great mentor. After
playing a small role in ‘Run’ in 2004, he appeared in many films. But his work got
recognition in 2012 with ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. After this, he acted brilliantly in
many films and web series. Be it Kaleen Bhaiya of ‘Mirzapur’ or Madhav Mishra of
‘Criminal Justice’, he won the hearts of people with his acting in every web series.
Pankaj Tripathi joined Kalidas Rangalaya in Patna and after that remained
associated with Bihar Art Theater for 2 years. During this, he also tried for the
National School of Drama (NSD). For hotel management training, he also got the
job of kitchen supervisor in night shift at Hotel Maurya in Patna. After growing up,
Pankaj Tripathi used to work in the hotel at night and do theater in the morning
to stay connected with the theater.
Do you know that the role which changed Pankaj’s fortunes, his health was very
bad at the time of his audition. Pankaj refused to go to the audition of Gangs of
Wasseypur but Mukesh Chhabra convinced him, and Pankaj gave the longest
audition of his life.
