The acceptance of saffron waves far and wide is proof that BJP is far from over even in states elections. The result shows the alacrity among people to accept the ideology of BJP rather than any other party. Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur was won by BJP with the full majority whereas in Goa they fell short with one seat only. In Punjab, the Aam Admi Parties’ revolution pitch worked such in a way that they won 92 among 117 seats, and the big national parties were trailing all over.
Huge loss for INC
The only fort INC had in five was Punjab and it was conquered egregiously by AAP now it seems musky to imagine congress again for long, the party faces like Navjoot Singh Shidu and CM face Charanjeet Singh Channi was repudiated by the people not just that they could only win 18 seats. In UP the slogan “Ladki hu lad sakti hu” was failed terribly as the BJP got the highest vote percentage from women voters. Its time for Congress to look back and unravel their chess thumping moves also how they can escape the dynasty tag as now people have started labeling them with it. In Goa and Uttarakhand Congress showed hope for the next election.
AAP a national alternative
With the promise of replicating the Delhi model in Punjab AAP started their election campaign, they knew their opponent was just Congress and they worked accordingly. The Bhagwat Mann factors played well over Charanjeet Singh Channi in attracting Dalit voters. The farmer protest couldn’t harm BJP but benefited AAP. Just after the huge win the Aam Admi Party leaders and workers started seeing them as the new national alternative as Manish Sisodia said in a conference that Aam Admi Party can do what INC couldn’t in 2019. But they need to accept that its too soon to call themselves in a game above Congress unless they do wonders in Punjab, AAP is in a jeopardizing situation where Punjab people will play the important role in upcoming elections, also mark that Punjab is way different than Delhi 1. It’s a state 2. Depends on the more rural population 3. Border territory.
Regional parties couldn’t score
The politics have changed in a way that the scope of regional parties have down after the BJP came into power in nationals. People votes for national face rather than their local hero. Bihar and UP were the hubs of regional politics but both are occupied by BJP now… SP, BSP in UP, and SAD in Punjab were failed to impress and couldn’t receive ovations among people. In UP the reason was lack of heroism as the Samajwadi Party doesn’t have many heroes face other than Akhilesh Yadav. Well, SP doubles their tally from 2017 but felt way too short than the Yogi, Modi factor. SP brought jobs, the welfare of farmers, electricity, and LPG in their manifesto as well in speeches from the campaign but couldn’t strike well against Hindutva politics, BJP too brought the same things but kept only too manifesto and run campaign on Hindutva. In Punjab and Manipur, regional leaders were too afraid to fight against merchant princes of the nation.
BJP left other shocked
After retaining all of its states’ post-pandemic BJP has shocked everyone. However, it was almost clear in Punjab after the farmer’s protest neither BJP tried enough. In UP the people who were throwing stones at MLAs actually voted for them, they got the exceptional vote percentage of Muslims even after the 80-20 statement by the chief minister. The leader who made statements like “bulldozer” was able to sell their good administration pitch from the same stage. Not just that, BJP was able to sell their women safety card in Hathrus and Unnao was well where’s INC failed oh-so. The prime minister said that’s people choose development over caste where yogi declared it a victory of nationalism but deep down BJP turned themselves to complete saffron that gave them the assurance and big loyal voters. BJP runs on the different ideology ethical or questionable, but its working fine for them. The other parties need to understand that you can’t trap BJP in their element but your element could be stronger than them. In the coming years we can see the complete change in national politics where APP actually can be an alternative with INC disappeared in peril.
