School of Media students participated in the #Don’tPegOnPoison: Perils of Illicit Alcohol in India’. The summit was organized by one of the top media houses ‘The Quint on 19th September at The Leela Palace, New Delhi. The summit provided an opportunity for the students to closely interact with the national and international policymakers. Series of lectures were given by top government officials, ministers and members of parliament like the CEO of the Niti Ayog Sri Amitabh Kant, Agriculture Minister Ramvilas Paavan, Delhi State Women Commission Chief Swati Malival, MP Pavan Verma and Jeff Hardy
Director-General, Transnational Alliance to Combat Illicit Trade. The Quint CEO Ritu Kapur and Media Entrepreneur, owner of TV 18 Raghav Bahal interacted closely with the students. The summit helped the students understand the problem of illicit liquor and the social evils attached to it at the national and international levels. Dr. Shuchi Yadav, Associate Professor and Prof. (Dr.) Avinash Jha that summit was a learning experience for the media students.
