A fresh batch of School of Media students today visited the News 24 TV news channel as part of their induction program. The school organized a workshop on Television Journalism for the freshers inside the News 24 premises at the Film City, Noida. Ms Shailja Naqvi, Head of the Department, ISOMERS delivered an opening address to the freshers outlining the opportunities ahead in the Television news industry.
As part of the workshop, the students were given a special session by the Assignment Head of the channel Mr. Jacob Mathews where he explained in detail the functioning of the news production process in the Television Newsroom. Mr. Ashraf, a senior video journalist with the channel conducted a guided tour of the TV newsroom and studio for the students where they were able to understand the nuances of Television writing and anchoring. Top television news anchors and producers also interacted personally with the bachelor and master program freshers.
Dr. Shuchi Yadav, Associate Professor, helped the students discern the nuances of Television News practices. Senior Professor, Dr. Avinash Jha concluded the workshop by delivering a vote of thanks. Dr. Jha extended heartfelt gratitude to the News24 team for their enormous efforts and finesse in conducting the program. The day-long workshop helped students acquire a hands-on experience of the functioning of a television news channel.
